We had an amazing tour to Green Island and the nearby Reef with the Ocean Free crew. Nice to be in a smaller tour and on a sail boat. We really felt like we were on the water instead of being inside a cabin. The crew was professional, helpful and thoughtful. We saw lots of fish and a large turtle. Highly recommend!

Most enjoyable day. Crew were very attentive and professional in setting everyone up to snorkel or scuba dive depending on what they had chosen to do. Great lunch and plenty of it. Caterered for special meals as well.

Our experience with the Ocean Freedom was absolutely amazing. The crew serving on 26 Oct were 10/10. Not only they knew what they were doing at all times, but also had a smile on and made the day super easy for all of us. We saw cool things, enjoyed nice food, but again, it was each of them who made the difference. Thanks guys

My wife and I went on the Great Barrier Reef and Green Island Tour, and the experience was way beyond our expectations! The service, tour, and crew, everything was perfect.Matt, Ryan, and Archie were absolute legends, their professionalism, service, and attention to detail were 20 out of 10!A special shoutout to Archie for diving with me on my first-ever dive, it was incredible!Thank you so much!Highly, highly recommended!

Amazing experience, we had such a lovely cruise!! The crew is amazing, they are so tentative, always looking to ensure we had the best experience possible. They would give you pointers on what to do, when to do it and answer any question. The entire experience is very flexible, we were able to book diving on the spot, and they also had a glass bottom boat for prople that did not want to enter the water as well as any of the scuba/snorkeling people if they wished to join. They prioritize everyone getting back safely, while sharing their love and apreciation for the marine life.

Incredible, very worth the money, especially the diving. We had a mechanical failure on the day we had booked for ocean freedom, and were essentially given a second day out for free due to the wasted time.Great people working there, very nice, very helpful instructors for intro dives. I was able to enjoy the second dive on day 2 much more after growing pains on the first dive so I recommend doing 2. The instructor for both was great though, book here.Also good snacks/food.

We chose Ocean Freedom for our reef experience and we were really happy with our choice. The atmosphere on the boat was great, food was delicious and the crew did everything to help. We were lucky enough to have a beautiful september day (just a little bit cloudy at some point) especially on the second reef stop so there was a lot of snorkeling ...

We joined the Ocean Freedom full-day cruise and spent an unforgettable day out on the reef. The weather was perfect and the ocean was absolutely stunning. Even for our friend who was snorkeling for the first time, the instructor was incredibly patient and attentive, which made it easy to relax and enjoy.The only thing I’d say is that the lunch itself probably wouldn’t taste particularly special on land—but somehow, eating it out on the beautiful turquoise sea made it feel surprisingly good.Unlike other snorkeling tours I’ve joined in different countries, where you’re rushed out of the water after 30 minutes, this trip really lets you enjoy snorkeling for as long as you want. We were lucky enough to see a sea turtle that swam right up close—almost close enough to touch!All the crew members were cheerful, caring, and made the entire day so much fun. The whole experience exceeded my expectations. I’ll definitely choose Ocean Freedom again next time I’m in Cairns.

Fabulous time with Blair, Dan and Annie! Superstar team that provide us all with a great time.We had a slightly dull weather day but the team was far from dull!! They were informative, caring, humourous and welcoming. I felt very safe on my trip, especially with Dan doing my intro dive (Thank you so much!!)The food provided was fab and the overall experience was excellent.They spoke highly of their work and experience with the company, which was so nice to hear.Big shout out to the crew ❤️ hopefully catch you all next time, and if not, good luck on all future endeavours.Big love, Eve and Oscar x

The entire team was incredibly friendly, attentive and extremely well organised. A very special thank you to Poul and Luke, our diving instructors!With his calm, competent and humorous manner, Poul made sure that we felt completely safe and relaxed while diving. Luke also provided lots of exciting information.The boat, the food and the atmosphere on board were also excellent – everything was perfect for an unforgettable day! And as it was a slightly cloudy day, there weren't many guests on board, so we had plenty of space and time to enjoy ourselves.

Booked on the sailboat ocean free. Had a great time. We sailed with Skipper, Ana and Stormy. Everyone was knowledgeable and professional. Ana lead us on a scuba tour and her knowledge of the reef and and locations to see the local wildlife was outstanding! Best snorkel trip of my life. Sailing back home with some charcuterie was a great capstone for the experience. I highly recommend ocean free to anyone else looking for great barrier reef snorkel tour. Again, thank you Stormy, Ana, and skipper for the unforgettable experience. 10/10 would drink all their beers again and pump up the jam again!

10/10 experience☺️ I was originally planning to dive but decided not to for personal reasons (nothing related to the staff). My boyfriend dived twice and absolutely loved it! The staff were so supportive and kind, which made the whole experience even better. They never pressured me and only supported me☺️ We had the best day! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 5/5A Wonderful Family Experience with Ocean Freedom – Cairns, Great Barrier ReefWe joined Ocean Freedom for a snorkeling trip to the Great Barrier Reef, and it was absolutely fantastic! The crew were incredibly friendly, helpful, and full of energy — such a lovely team of young, kind, and beautiful people. As someone who has lived in Australia for years as a migrant, I was truly happy to see such amazing, welcoming Australians showing the best of this country’s spirit.This was only my second time snorkeling (the first was in Thailand), and even as a beginner I felt completely supported and safe. The team explained everything clearly, provided all the gear (wetsuits, fins, masks, life jackets), and helped everyone feel comfortable in the water.Here are a few tips for beginners or families like mine:• They provide plenty of food — a delicious lunch and afternoon tea with cheese, crackers, fruit, and cake — but if you’re bringing small children (like my four-year-old son), it’s a good idea to pack some extra snacks or drinks they like.• There’s space on board to keep your backpack dry, so bring your own water, sunscreen, and maybe a light jacket.• Bring a spare towel and even a small blanket if you have little ones — they might get chilly or fall asleep on the way back.• If you’re worried about the sun, you can wear a full-body swimsuit or onesie; otherwise, a bikini (for women) or swim shorts (for men) under your wetsuit works fine.• If you’re prone to sea sickness, take your medication before getting on board, and keep an extra dose with you in case you need it later. The crew provide hyoscine tablets on board, but if another medication works better for you (for example, ondansetron), it’s best to buy it beforehand and bring it with you.• They offer two snorkeling spots — at the first one I felt a bit cold and used a life jacket and a floating ring, and one of the guides kindly pulled me over to see a big turtle! The second spot was shallower and warmer, and I felt confident enough to swim on my own.Overall, this was a truly memorable experience — not only for the beauty of the reef but also because of the warmth and professionalism of the Ocean Freedom crew. I’ll definitely go with them again next time I’m in Cairns, and I highly recommend this tour to anyone, especially families and beginner snorkelers

Such a fantastic experience! I cannot fault the crew, the day, the boat, the planning or the food! Everything was meticulously planned and delivered. Every individual crew member was fantastic, super kind and helpful, very knowledgeable and would go out of their way to ensure participants were enjoying themselves. It was very noticeable that safety was paramount, and staff articulately delivered safety information and gave pointers along the way tk keep all out of trouble. The dive/snorkel spots were second to none, such a great use of time to visit 2 very different spots on the one trip.I would recommend this company to all who wish to experience as much of the reef as possible as safely as possible.

Absolutely incredible day! The crew was fantastic, attentive and knowledgeable. They made sure everyone from novice to experienced had a great time. Highly recommend this tour. Oktober 2025. Voor de 2x meegeweest. Nu met de zeilboot. Terug super vriendelijke medewerkers. Lunch was top. Zie foto's. Meegaan met zeilboot is een beetje meer uitdaging maar zr worden pilletje voor zeeziekte gratis aangeboden. Augustus 2025.SUPER vriendelijke staf. Leuk georganiseerd. Wel druk op de boot. Bijna permanent fruit, middag lunch en nadien ook nog wat versnaperingen. En ik heb persoonlijk 2x gedoken. Redelijk veel vissen gezien en ook mooi koraal. De dag gaat vlot. Als deze info een meerwaarde was altijd om een te duimpje of hartje krijgen. Veel plezier.

Just came back from a double dive and my wife did some snorkelling. Great experience and even better staff aboard this vessel. My wife wanted to try the introductory dive, but because she was on some meds they said she couldn’t go. While disappointed, she understood and watching the checks and balances they used for the entire trip. My son Milo and I had an incredible day today with the team. We were welcome like one of the family from our first interaction to our last with the crew. We felt safe , the boat was excellent as was the food.Milo did an introductory dive and the Diver team were all fantastic.Seriously I would rate today’s one of the best days I have had in the water. If you don’t use these guys , you will miss out. We will be sending our family . Thank you so much.

Absolutely outstanding experience. 5 stars without hesitation. Booking was easy, price was good and the service was stellar. We did the 2 stop snorkel day trip. The many guides were awesome: easily approachable, friendly, helpful, quick, knowledgeable, fun. They swim with you and point out many cool sights as well as share a lot of knowledge. You get more than enough time and freedom in the water, too. Besides the many varieties of fish and coral we saw sea turtles, giant clams, a reef shark and some terns. They served lots of hearty food and snacks, water, coffee, tea (all included), and have other drinks and such for sale at reasonable prices. They also have a variety of prescription masks. They've thought of everything. You can't go wrong here.

I took my parents out on the Ocean Freedom tour a week or so ago. I just stayed on the boat as I feeling crook as dog from the ride out, but parents really enjoyed it. The crew was very patient, and understanding, made my job a lot easier, lol. Definitely a good choice for taking older parents, or people that might be a little worried, or families. The crew's service was awesome, 100%

I visited Cairns with my parents, and since it was their very first time trying snorkeling, I was quite worried. Neither of them can swim, and my mom especially gets scared easily, so I was even more concerned. But instructor Ashley was incredibly patient and kind, teaching them all the way through despite the language barrier. I’m so grateful for that, and my mom kept telling me how thankful she was as well.When it came to diving, I was also nervous since it had been years for me, and I wasn’t feeling well because of seasickness. Instructor Ollie really took care of me, and even when I had a moment of panic, he didn’t give up on me and helped me finish successfully. I truly appreciate it.I don’t know everyone’s names, but the whole staff was very friendly, and I’m so thankful for that too. Also, the food was great! From breakfast to lunch and even snacks, everything was delicious.When we went, we were the only Koreans on board, but if any Koreans are reading this review, I highly recommend it. They even provide hot water, so if you bring instant noodles, you can enjoy them after snorkeling! Just a tip though make sure to take seasickness medicine, because the motion can get quite strong.Thank you so much for helping us make such wonderful memories ☺️

We had an amazing time scuba diving at the Great Barrier Reef with Ocean Freedom! From the beginning, the crew made everything fun and easy. Everyone was super friendly, helpful, and really excited to be there. You could tell they loved their job and wanted us to have a great day.The dive was something we’ll never forget. The coral was bright and full of life, and YES we found Nemo. It felt like we were swimming in a beautiful underwater world. The crew helped us feel safe and ready, and they explained everything clearly.If you want to see the reef and be looked after by a kind and fun team. I recommend Ocean Freedom because We will remember this day forever! And definitely coming back again! 😊

I’ve been on both of these boats and the crew and service has always been great. Fun and polite team and well as great customer service online and in person. If you’re looking for more tranquil trip on a day with nice conditions, I recommend Ocean Free. I loved getting off the boat to Green island as well, it was definitely an added bonus.Diving team is very professional, the equipment is in good condition and well taken care of. I enjoyed my dives very much and the lunch is abundant and delicious especially after diving/snorkeling. Thank you all. I’d love to come back again.

We had an amazing day snorkeling the upolu reef! The crew were fantastic - friendly, funny, knowledgeable and attentive. Food was plentiful and of hight quality. Beautiful spots: we saw a few turtles, a white tip reef shark, a couple of rays, giant clams, and a large variety of fish and coral . Can't recommend enough - unforgettable day. Thank you!

I cant reccomend this crew enough! Everything was just perfect with my trip. I booked an introductory dive as I have my PADI licence but it had been a while since I last dive but I was confidently reassured that they will run through some safety skills before our dive to make me feel more at ease and familiar. Marie was an incredible instructor and I felt extremely safe and looked after. Her warm energy and professionalism put me right at ease built me up to be confident and trust in myself, she made this my favourite dive so far! The other members of the crew were amazing too! Constantly checking in with everyone making sure everyone was taken care of and having fun, every single one of them showed so much genuine care and you can tell they really love what they do! Thanks so much for an unforgettable experience

Best time in Cairns ever. Tried few diving experience and this is the best! Super friendly dive guide and nice staff out there. Wonderful hot food lunch with prawns. Unlimited tea and coffee provided. Super detail dive presentation before diving. Wonderful place in reef where it was so pretty. Unlikely that my first dive, the visibility is bad, but still better than Hk lmao hahaThey do Rmb your name. I’m so impressive that we are not just numbers or safety codes.One improvement that can made is probably diving computer can be provided. This can help us to monitor the NDL time and most importantly on the safety stop time.

We had the most amazing first-time experience with scuba, snorkeling, and exploring the island! From start to finish everything felt smooth, fun, and welcoming. The crew made us feel so comfortable and explained everything clearly, which really helped calm any first-time nerves. Scuba diving was unforgettable—being under the water and seeing all the colorful fish and coral up close was absolutely magical. Snorkeling was just as incredible, giving us a chance to relax and take in the reef from above.The island stop was the perfect touch—beautiful, relaxing, and a great way to soak up the scenery. Between the crystal-clear water, stunning views, and the crew’s energy, it honestly felt like the perfect day. MY FAVOURITE TOUR EVER! We did the ocean freedom and only snorkelled not dived.Iv always wanted to swim in the ocean and what better place then the barrier reef!The crew were fantastic they all had smiles on their faces all day and made us all feel so welcomed.Special shout out to "KELLY" I can't thank you enough for what you did for my daughter Isabelle today, she was so scared and you knew how to calm her down with your big beautiful smile and kind heart ❤️ my daughter has ADHD and is also Autistic and she was VERY scared on the ride out to the reef, which I was abit worried about and stressed alot about how she would cope with this all and almost didn't book the tour, but I'm so happy I did, also the young man on board that gave my daughter his personal head phones to help calm her also was amazing he also was one of the crew that took us out to show us the reef in the water on our second dive in and he was very good at showing us different things to look at and information about the reef and showed us how to free dive down thank you so much.If your thinking is this worth the money SIMPLE ANSWER IS YES every bit of it!!I enjoyed swimming on my own and free diving down deep with out the vest once I was comfortable in the water, I would recommend doing this if your able to swim as it was a feeling ill never forget.Also its definitely worth taking the sea sick tablets offered at the start of the journey even if you think you will be fine as I did see a few people not feeling great, but the crew looked after them so well but just to be safe take it if you can, they all thought they would be fine but wasn't sadly and a bit to late once you start feeling sick, but throught how amazing that the staff had some on board and asked everyone at the beginning.Food was good and had plenty of food for us all!BOOK NOW YOU WON'T REGRET IT.KELLY sorry I didn't realise you said at the end did Isabelle want a photo just you and her, I thought you were saying you will help walk her up the ramp haha, Isabelle wasnt happy with me that she didn't get a one on one photo with you haha 😄

An absolutely sensational experience! The staff were incredible and so accommodating, even with our twin pram often in the way. The food was outstanding, and we really valued the team’s knowledge about the Great Barrier Reef and they answered every question we had with ease. To top it all off, the cheese platter at the end was delightful. Highly recommended

We had an amazing experience at the Great Barrier Reef. We loved the food, since we both are vegetarians, there were many options for us which is unlikely. Thanks to the entire crew specially Julian for assisting us very patiently for snorkelling and making the experience wholesome for someone like me who is a non - swimmer. We will definitely revisit and try scuba diving. Thank You ocean freedom team 👏

We thoroughly researched all the tours in Cairns that led to the Barrier Reef and ultimately chose this one. We opted for the Ocean Free option, which was more expensive but offered fewer people and a more private experience (we’re glad we did). We boarded the sailboat and, contrary to popular belief, it was actually slower than other boats. In my opinion, the slower pace was worth it because we could fully enjoy the ride. The staff was young but incredibly experienced and made our day fantastic! They even offered us beverages and food throughout the day. Highly recommend if you are looking for a unique experience!

Had the best time on The Ocean Freedom today! The entire staff/crew were amazing! I was a bit fearful of snorkeling and they made me so comfortable. We went out on a glass bottom boat that made me a little more comfortable seeing what I was going to see without being in the water. When we got back to the main boat I got ready to snorkel. Because I was uncomfortable, they sent me out snorkeling with a guide. I felt like I was on a private tour as she guided me around the reef pointing out different fish and telling me about them and the reef. They continued to check on me throughout the day to make sure I was still comfortable and enjoying myself. I would absolutely recommend this excursion to anyone coming to Cairns.

Amazing snorkelling and fantastic day out!We saw humpback whales on the way out, turtles, stingrays, and loads of other sea life. The team are knowledgeable and great hosts. We were well fed throughout the day and there is space on the boat even at max capacity (we were a group of 71 and the max is 75). Highly recommend the team here, great value for a great day out ☀️

Best tour we have had in Australia so far. The best value for your money. Personalised treatment, crew that cares, the boat with crystal bottom is the perfect way to get familiar with the reef before diving/snorkeling, and then they have snorkel guides that show you everything around the reef, your own pace, for as long as you want in the ocean. 100% satisfaction. This is what boutique services feel like, and why big corporations can never meet this level of excellence in service.

So down to earth staff and experience. When I felt sea sick multiple times today, the same staff went out of their way to ensure I am taken care of. While I loved the beautiful sights of the Reef and the amazing underwater dive today, its the staff that made my trip more enjoyable!

My girlfriend and I went sailing, snorkeling, and diving on August 21st. We had such a great time! The food was delicious, and the people were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I also went diving with Archie and even spotted two different sea turtles! It was my first time diving, and Archie made the experience better than I could have ever imagined. Such a great guy (just like the rest of the crew). I would definitely recommend this trip, especially the diving, as they only take two people at a time for discovery dives — unlike other companies that take four people on the same type of dive!

Overall an amazing experience. Whether you know swimming or not, you would enjoy the reef. The tour guides are amazing professionals, they motivate you to try and make you feel utmost comfortable and safe. I only know very basic swimming and never had any experience of snorkel, and still enjoyed the whole day as I was constantly guided under the water by the trainers.The food, it is really amazing, I had mentioned during the time I made the booking requesting for vegetarian meals, which was poverty well organised by this team, the whole day, they made me feel so comfortable with food.Overall, I would recommend Ocean Freedom for anyone who know or don’t know swimming or snorkel, they would still make the experience the best for you.

Echt een fantastische trip, niet langer twijfelen, zeker boeken!Crew heeft aandacht voor iedereen of je nu wel of niet kunt snorkelen; met veel geduld helpen ze iedereen en er wordt goed op ieders veiligheid gelet. De crew heeft plezier met elkaar en heeft humor.We hebben op 2 verschillende plaatsen gesnorkeld en degenen die wilden konden een 3e keer door met een kleine boot een stukje te varen en vervolgens naar de grote boot te snorkelen. Wij hebben niet gedoken maar ook dat was een optie. Daarnaast kon je met een glazenbodemboot varen, ook heel gaaf.Het eten was de hele dag door subliem; in de ochtend koffie/thee met koek en vers fruit, een uitgebreid vers lunchbuffet en op de terugreis diverse snacks en alles ruim voldoende.Wij hebben een TOP-dag gehad en kunnen een uitje met dit familiebedrijf van harte aanbevelen!

If you hesitate between different companies, pick this one. It's a local family owned business, they truly know what they're doing and are there to deliver an amazing service to each client.I went on the Ocean Free (sailboat) which has a max capacity of 25 guests - ideal! The crew (Matt, Marie, Sarah and Luke) was absolutely lovely. Everything was very well organised and timed. During our first snorkel, the instructors helped us spot different species which was very helpful.I personally think nothing can replace the experience of sailing back to shore!

Estuve hace un par de días navegando en el Ocean Freedom para ver las maravillas de la gran barrera de coral y solo tengo buenas palabras. A pesar de que había bastante oleaje y soy una persona que se marea mucho, la tripulación tuvo una paciencia infinita conmigo, estuvieron súper pendientes de mí, y eso es de agradecer, menos mal que al final disfruté mucho tanto la ida como la vuelta y sobre todo, el esnórquel. El barco es muy cómodo, está muy bien equipado, limpio y la comida que nos dieron a bordo súper rica… así que todo genial, aunque lo mejor la tripulación al completo, encantadores, simpáticos, atentos, y pendientes de que todo el mundo estuviera bien. Se lo recomiendo al 100% a cualquiera. Muchas gracias a todos@s y hasta la próxima!!!!

The crew members were all very friendly & informative, and they were often checking up on everyone to ensure they were having a good time. Sarah took me underwater for my introductory scuba dive, and she was very patient with me throughout the whole process. The reefs we were shown were beautiful.

Super agence familiale qui nous a permis de vivre une de nos plus belles journées de voyage. Nous avons passé la journée entière sur le bateau pour faire notre bâpteme de plongée en famille avec nos deux filles sur la barrière de corail, ainsi que du snorkeling à plusieurs endroits. Nous avons vu des tortues, une baleine, des poissons par milliers, et même un petit requin! Toute l'équipe est adorable et le repas sur le bateau est très bon avec des fruits délicieux. Merci à tous!

10/10 I can’t recommend these guys enough!! Our family of 3 spent the day out on the reef today and we had the most amazing time. From the friendly and organised check in desk to the Skipper and faultless crew everything was done professionally and with flair and fun. Food on board was plentiful, the crew were all so knowledgeable and great at sharing information while we snorkelled. Super équipe, super matériel, Journée absolument incroyable !Initialement, on devait naviguer sur la goélette (Océan Free) mais le skipper était malade. Rapidement, l’équipe (merci Camilia) nous a proposé une solution le même jour en allant sur leur catamaran à moteur (Océan Freedom). Tout s’est bien passé et tout est prévu : matériel, repas, collation, explication. Nous étions 75 (dont 10 membres d’équipage) mais nous n’étions pas serrés.Snorkelling exceptionnel avec en bonus : nager avec une tortue. Merci à tout l’équipage, en particulier aux 2 français. Paul a notamment rassuré mes enfants qui ont fait leur baptême de snorkelling. Excellent rapport qualité prix. À faire absolument avec eux.

Snorkeling with marine biologists is always a great experience. We received so much information about the wildlife we saw, I, unfortunately, only rememer half of it. The passion the staff has for nature and wildlife was palpable and inspring. The food, albeit cold, was fantastic and we got served copius amounts of snacks and drinks. The option to take a ride on a glass bottom boat, with accompanying information by aforementioned marine biologists, was a great opportunity to learn even more about the wildlife. The safety procedures on board and in the water where fantastic and I felt save througout the whole trip. The option to buy motion sickness tablets on board saved many a traveller's day. Thanks for a great experience.

It was exactly the right decision to spend the day on the reef with these great guys! All super friendly and you can really feel, that they love their job and do everything they can to ensure that the guests have an unforgettable day - both in the service and in the introductions, on and in the water! They all took care of everyone - especially those who don't feel safe in the water! If necessary, a snorkeler or diver had a supervisor just for himself - can you ask for more service?A day at the reef with this company is absolutely recommended!Many thanks again to all of you for this wonderful day!Addendum (3 days later): today we made a trip to Green Island with another agency: it was more of a "transport" and had no personal atmosphere at all. At Ocean Free & Ocean Freedom, on the other hand, it was almost like traveling with a big family!

What an amazing day. From start to finish the crew were superb. Super! De dive master was erg geduldig, attent en behulpzaam. De duik was gaaf: we zagen schildpadden, haaien, roggen, vissen en veel koraal. De tweede duik was met een speeedboot en ook dit was goed geregeld. Het personeel was allemaal erg vriendelijk en de catering was goed. Deze boot is rustiger en kleiner dan de andere aanbieders, waardoor iedereen veel tijd nam en het een stuk minder commercieel was. Aanrader!

Wir hatten einen wunderschönen Tag auf der Ocean Freedom mit viel Zeit zum Schnorcheln an einem tollen Riff. Wir haben neben vielen Korallen und Fischen sogar eine Schildkröte und Rochen gesehen! Die Crew war super! Freundlich, aufmerksam, gut gelaunt und immer bereit, ganz unkompliziert zu helfen, egal ob bei Seekrankheit, einer doch nicht ganz passenden Maske oder beim Drift-Schnorcheln mit dem Glasboden-Boot. Ein rundum schöner Ferientag! Wir haben uns total wohl gefühlt!

What a trip! The hospitality was first class, the boat spotless and the food, well we were fed all day long. I'm a decent enough swimmer but never go out of my depth and to have Mike and Molly guide me when snorkeling whilst keeping me safe and given me the confidence all day, I had the trip of a lifetime! The reef was spectacular, the teams knowledge and expertise was second to none. Never mind seeing so many fish, star fish and the turtle. I recently did a Reef tour down at Hamilton Island as my first on the GBR and had a great time.
A trip to Cairns (Palm Cove) meant another trip was due!
Ocean Freedom was recommended to us due to the smaller capacity and attention to detail by people at Palm Cove.
It was an amazing day out. A very full day, 2 reefs, well fed and normally I’d just do my own thing in the water, but opted for the glass bottom boat tour and guided snorkel while there and it was great. As little or as much time as you can handle in the water. Excellent reefs, Green Sea Turtles and Manta Rays were spotted by our family.
Highly recommended for your trip to the reef. Very kid friendly also and all provided equipment was top notch.

We had a wonderful experience sailing on the Ocean Free boat to Great Barrier Reef where we snorkelled and our daughter had her first experience diving. The diving instructor gave great instruction and had a genuine care for his clients and the skipper and crew were focused on giving us the best experience possible. would highly recommend.

We had the best day. The crew on board were fantastic. The spot they moored off Green Island was so close to the reef you could almost stand on it. Snorkeling and diving was brilliant. Lunch on board is very impressive. We met some lovely people from all over the world. Sailing back at under full sail with a lovely glass of wine was exhilarating and exciting. We went on this reef cruise today and it was fantastic! The guides were incredible and the food was great- and there was loads of it! We went on a different snorkeling trip yesterday to Green Island and it was nothing compared to Ocean Freedom. The guides were in the water with us showing us all the fish and marine life. Definitely skip Green Island and go with Ocean Freedom!!!!

My wife, daughter and myself went out on Ocean Freedom on Wednesday 8 Feb 2023. A great day - the Captain and crew were unbelievably helpful and polite. Nothing was to much trouble. Once at the reef a guided glass bottom boat trip then onto with the snorkelling or SCUBA if you wanted. The food was high quality and heaps for everyone. When you thought it was over out came the cheese and biscuits followed by cake. I’ve been on a number of boat tours around the world and this is by far the best. It is highly recommend. Lastly a shout out to crewman Tom who was very patience with my wife and helped her snorkelling experience.

Perfect day out visiting two of the nearby reefs. The crew are extremely warm, welcoming and a great laugh helping you be at ease wether if it’s your first time snorkelling/diving or somebody used to the ocean. What a great value for money. We took the family tour and were lucky to be going on a quite day. First time diving for 2 of us was made comfortable by friendly staff. Crew was so helpful in making sure snorkelling at 2 different spots was a memorable experience of the reef.We swam with turtles,saw reef shark and plenty of beautiful fishes in the reef. The crew members were fantastic, giving out information were serious and funny 😆; food 🥘 is delectable 🤤 and the day was perfect . This is my second visit to the Reef and my experience this time is super; smaller groups are better than bigger ones. My grandchildren had a time of their lives snorkelling and creating friendship. Thumbs up 👍 to your team; you have done well! To little Millie, you are more than amazing to behold 😊; you have an enviable life at sea, an inspiration to other children on board. We were fortunate to go on both Ocean Free & Freedom and had amazingly beautiful days snorkelling in pristine conditions. I can't speak highly enough of the crew, their priority was fun and safety. Thank you to "welsh" Liam ( I was considering a dive on Freedom if you were there), Matt (great to see you again for both days), skipper Pascal, Chris, "Pete" & skipper Ben. I highly recommend! Absolutely recommend Perry and the team for a great day sailing. We enjoyed seeing some great snorkelling spots and loved the experience of sailing as opposed to sitting like sardines on a much bigger, sterile vessel. The staff are incredibly knowledgeable and the food is a plenty! do it!!

This was a fantastic day out. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the service was excellent. There was plenty room on the boat and loads of time in the water. And the food was good too. It was a bit more expensive than some of the other reef tours but well worth it!

We enjoyed A1 friendly service and an absolutely perfect and memorable experience. I felt completely at ease with the competent staff assisting me with every step I made both on and off the boat. Lunch was delicious and expertly organised. I appreciate the hard work that goes into preparing and executing a safe and enjoyable experience for a large quantity of diverse individuals...you all did this amazingly well. a big shout out to my wonderful support man Liam on Monday 21/6. The best belated 60th birthday present was being up close and witnessing the resident turtle feeding.

What a spectacular day. All the crew were amazing. Chris helping Chaise 13 with his first dive- he went in for second dive he had such a great time. Liam was incredible with Chloe 10- snorkelling and giving her so much information about the reef. Every staff member was exceptional, friendly and helpful. Constantly offered food and drink. Best day trip we’ve ever done. A must do.

Fantastic day - not only was the reef magnificent but the crew was so friendly and helpful, and the food was plentiful and delicious. We snorkelled 3 times and went in the glass bottom boat, saw so many fish, corals, reef sharks and a turtle. I would highly recommend this tour to everyone!

I had the most fantastic experience with the very friendly & professional crew on Ocean Freedom! I saw the most beautiful reef fish, a reef shark, a magnificent turtle munching on algae, a stingray & stunning coral. I would absolutely recommend this Far North QLD reef tour! Had an amazing day out at the Great Barrier Reef today and couldn’t have asked for a better crew Sophie taught us how to scuba and was absolutely amazing and understanding she made us comfortable and took it slow with us. Scott was a great skipper and the whole team was super friendly and funny. Made the whole experience very welcoming. We were able to stop at two areas today to explore what this beautiful place has to offer and lunch on the cruise, and snacks throughout the day. The crew also taught us about the wildlife and cool facts along the way. Would highly recommend these guys!

What a fantastic day guys. You made us feel so safe and welcome onboard your boat and in the water all day. If you have never been to the Great Barrier Reef, or been swimming with the wonderfull sea creatures in Tropical North Queensland these are the people you want to do it with. Just an amazing day on the reef with the crew of Ocean Freedom. So much fun and these guys are total professionals. Great saftey protocols with maximum fun the whole day. Our many snorkels were wonderful with great comentary and guidance if desired. All the crew were so knowledgeable about the reef and its inhabitants. Scuba dives with Lou & Rose were so good great guides and they were so caring fot all divers. Food was fabulous and there was plenty to go around. The whole crew were so frienly, interactive and really well organised. Our day was perfect and we would love to travel again with the Ocean Freedom Family. Thanks guys for a very memorable day!

We just can't say enough about these guys! The crew were just BLOODY AWESOME! They took us to a place on the reef that wasn't heavily populated by other tour boats so we were spoilt for choice. We got to spend 6 hours in the water snorkelling. There were always guides with us showing us around and sharing information about the marine life around us. Glass bottom boat tours were included.
In between we were kept well fed and watered. Lunch was really good. Simple food, seafood, cold meats and salads but fresh and good quality👍 Morning and afternoon tea was also provided.
The boat wasn't overly packed out either. Plenty of room to move around. If you have 1, DEFINITELY bring a GoPro with you. I hung out with a green sea turtle for a good half an hour and wish I could've captured some of that experience.
An awesome laid back Nth QLD experience at its finest! We will be back again for sure!

of all the tour choices for seeing and experiencing the reef, we were somehow lucky enough to have found THE BEST! From beginning to end, the most professional crew , and pristine boat ( we were on the power cat). we had a personal dive master Yatti, who's expertise and direction made us feel safe and well looked after! Thanks heaps mate! Rosie led our guided snorkelling tour and was extremely knowledgeable about the reef, and pointed out all the highlights! Didn't miss a thing! The food aboard was top notch too.. 5 plus stars out of 5!! what a team!

Unforgettable Christmas Adventure !
We highly recommend the Ocean Freedom and their team. They strive to ensure your day is fantastic, safe and memorable. We had a wonderful experience on the introductory to scuba and appreciated the safe system in place to give first time scuba divers a trip of a lifetime. The passionate and enthusiastic crew made sure we had what we needed with gear and instruction. The onboard breakfast, lunch and snacks were delicious. Excellent Ozzie hospitality extended with passing the afternoon snacks around so no one missed out. We valued the lower number of passengers on board resulting in spectacular memories to last a lifetime. Many thanks for an absolutely awesome experience!!

What a great experience!! What they tell you in their brochure is what you get for the full 100% and more! Paul gave us a briefing of the day which he did with a lot of humor. When we got to the reef we started off with the glass bottom boat. Lou was amazing she explained everything you needed to know about the reef. Doing this first was great because you knew what to expect. After that we jumped into the water for some snorkeling for more than 2 hours. We went on a snorkel tour with Mat which was great. He showed us everything we needed to see. After the tour you could explore the reef by yourself. When we got back on the boat a perfect lunch was prepared for us with prawns, smoked salmon, chicken and some nice salads. After lunch we headed off to another spot where we again snorkeled for about 2 hours. After this we cruised back to harbour with fruit and snack served. Overall.... it was an amazing day! First time diving and couldn’t have asked for better staff. Chris was patient and guided us past the nerves. We had a great time. Ben and Eva were fantastic. If you are looking for a smaller group tour and excellent service then go here. Also the food was fantastic. We had lunch, later we stopped for wine and cheese, and before returning we finished off with dessert. We definitely had an incredible experience. Highly recommended.

My friend and I took a snorkeling tour with them today and it was AWESOME! The staff were the BEST! They were very attentive to everyone’s level of snorkeling and diving! The worked very hard! The food they served was also amazing! They had coffee and pastries for breakfast, served lunch and it wasn’t sandwiches, served cheese and crackers throughout trip along with fruit, figs, deserts and whatever you water along with other drinks!! I would highly recommend them! You would be missing out on a great experience if you didn’t book with them! Thanks to all for a spectacular day!!

I've been trying to break my wife into scuba and needed to find a charter that would take good care of her. Ocean Free did not disappoint. For her first dive ever they took great care to make sure she felt confident in the water and that we all had an amazing experience. The crew was nothing short of exceptional and diving the reef was the experience of a lifetime. The excursion to Green Island and the crocodile park was a nice bonus for those less inclined to be in the water as well. Couldn't be happier.

We had a trip on Ocean Free out to the reef in short what an awesome experience it was, not to be missed. The size of the boat gave you a more personal feeling and we were looked after by a fabulous crew, Portia, Chris and Scot (the captain). Whilst snorkelling Chris gave a tour of the reef pointing out and explaining what we were looking at as well as answering our many questions. Thank you Ocean Free for fulfilling a dream.

From a last minute booking at 7am that day to the best day of our holiday. We can not fault this trip. The crew (Paul and Lou) welcome us so kindly and helped us with anything we needed throughout the day. Their knowledge of the reef is amazing and they were also so kind as to give us advice of the local waterfalls as well. The sail on the way back in to the marina topped the day off! We would highly recommend this trip
