Stunning morning aboard Ocean free with awesome crew. Pascal was a very good skip, navigating rain weather in the smoothest fashion and also injecting bits of his own humour into our safety talks which really make them stick in my mind. Tom stood out above the others as an exemplary member of the crew, he was attentive, passionate and very professional in his manner. From when we first boarded he was smiles and jokes until we landed back in cairns, his hard work on the ship and eagerness to tend to guests really made this trip stand out for us. His knowledge of marine life on the reef and personal humour made this tour really worth the visit to Australia! Love from London! Thanks Tom!

It was a great experience to be on board of Ocean Freedom to explore the hidden treasures of the Great Reef and to complete my first ever diving session! From the very starting point of the booking procedure through boarding and finally introducing the Great Reef, everything was simply perfect. Great crew - special thanks to Sara and Pascal, you made my day, really. Wonderful buffet lunch and snacks throughout the whole adventure. Lovely snorkeling /diving spots - silent and secluded where one can feel the ocean at its best. Nature is Everywhere, Here it is Amazing...What extraordinary is the vivid Reef underwater, a world benith the Sea! Turtles, Baby Shark, colourfull fishes, corels.... Our favorite Nemo! We enjoyed the ocean thru oceanfree. Advance booking and food preference is always better. The full package includes Food, Snorkeling, Glass bottom Boat ride, it is so amazing, we took extra scuba ride, second time. Thank you Ocean Freedom Team.

We went out on the Ocean Free today and had the absolute best time! We can’t say enough wonderful things about the experience and the crew! The private snorkeling/diving spot off of Green Island allowed us to see fish, sharks, turtles and corals. It was amazing! We had a great time getting to know the others on the boat and would recommend this experience to everyone!

The crew on this tour is just amazing! Very helpful and kind. The snorkeling guides never said no to my family to take them out as many times as they asked for! Special thanks to Sarah, Mike and T! They knew the right spots and we even spotted Nemo and the turtles! They are simply marvelous and the skipper is just the top bloke! I highly recommend this company for their family friendly tours. Much better than the large tycoons!

We had a group of 9, including a 13, 10, 5 and 2 yr old. 3 of us did a dive and the rest of us snorkeled on the reef. The team was amazing, helpful and kept us entertained and informed when we had questions. We chose the Sailboat tour so the kids could enjoy the beach and sand, we weren't disappointed. Sailing part of the way home was so cool also. Top marks for the team.

Highly highly recommend them for your Great Barrier Reef excursions. Mike, Sara & Matt were with us for our tour. They are absolute legends. One of the best experiences of my life. Can’t stress enough how amazing it was and how awesome were the dive instructors. Thanks for making it so worthwhile.

Overall, a really great experience.We booked the Ocean Freedom for snorkeling but there were people who were also scuba diving.The boat, if I remember correctly, had a max capacity of roughly 150. Our day was about half full with 65 people.The whole process seemed very organized. It ran on-time, they provided wet suits, snorkel gear and everything you could imagine.They provided safety tips and rules to make everyone feel comfortable. There was never a time where I thought “what am I supposed to be doing right now?”The staff is incredible and they make the whole trip. There to help and guide you but also protect you. I don’t love being in the open ocean but I never felt concerned with the crew.This doesn’t even reflect on the reef itself with is incredible and home to many types of sea life. We saw a sea turtle which was the highlight of the trip.

We did the snorkelling tour to the Great Barrier Reef including introductory dive. It was a great experience! The staff is really kind and funny, and has eye for safety. They have a great vibe with each other as well as the guests. The coral was beautiful

I highly recommend this tour to anyone. The boat and equipment is super well maintained, we were feed delicious food from the moment we stepped aboard to the moment we got off and best of all (apart from the two beautiful locations we snorkelled) were the staff. They were all so friendly, well organised, accommodating and knowledgeable, they really made the day. A+++

I have no words to express an unforgettable day.For me this was my second time snorkeling it was just overwhelming. It is hard to describe how it feels to see what is happening under water – it is like entering and exploring an unknown world. I enjoyed watching all the different fish, the colours, reefs and the whole marine life I got lucky to see a big turtle and a enormous stingray . I highly recommend this tour and his crew was exceptional, friendly , attentive. they made this experience even more enjoyable.

No words available other than perfection. Absolute perfect day. I'll be singing their praises for years to come.The staff are a well oiled machine. They are attentive and thoughtful, funny, friendly, and caring.The various tours included with the package including a glass bottom boat tour, guided snorkelling areas, certain starfish and sea cucumbers were safely and gently retrieved during the tour for us to see and touch.This was a once in a lifetime moment and they nailed it.11/10 easily.

A must book! So happy i booked this all day adventure. I had never dove or scuba before and couldn’t have been happier doing both my first time with this crew. The beginner dive was absolutely incredible and easy. The guide talked me through my anxiety and did most of the work, all you have to do is calmly breath and pop your ears whenever you feel pressure and they do the rest! The boat was nice, staff incredible and friendly and obviously can’t beat the reef. We had A+ conditions so that helps but all and all amazing, amazing. Highly recommend.

We really enjoyed our time on this tour. The staff are great...shoutouts to Tee (a Kiwi who took my wife and me on a private trip around the reef), Pascal (who arranged this private tour) and Brooke (who served food and drink and helped re-bandage my finger, which I had broken just before I went on the tour). There were competent; moreover, they were kind.We weren't sure we would go snorkeling but the staff convinced us we had it in us. They were right, and we had a blast.The catamaran is well equipped. Lunch was fantastic (how could they put such a spread on in such a short time). The snorkeling and scuba diving are well done and, moreover, safe. We had reservations about using equipment others might have used but we needn't have. Everything is kept scrupulously clean. Even Felix Unger and Adrian Monk would approve.Don't hesitate to go, You'll have a great time. It's good value, IMO.

Great day on the Great reef barrier with them! Blair, Shea, Tamara, Amber and all the crew were great guides; they gave us all the infos to be safe in the water and respectul with the life around us.Moreover, their were always with us in the water, which made us feel more safe.Finally, they gave us a little present to celebrate our honeymoon. We had an amazing day on Ocean Free yesterday. The staff were outstanding, making sure everyone was taken care of, especially non strong swimmers when snorkelling. This was a once of a lifetime experience for our family (2 adults 50+ and 2 teens). A good balance of snorkelling, Green Island, and sailing. Highly recommend for those looking for a more personal trip to the reef.

A boat excursion to Green Island worthy of a 10 out of 10. Every aspect was perfect. The friendliness of the crew, the amazing experiences (snorkeling and seeing lots of fish, a turtle, and a baby shark), the stunning locations, and even plenty of delicious food. My wife and I were on our honeymoon, and they even prepared a congratulatory certificate and a special aperitif for us. I highly recommend this experience, it was truly fabulous. Fantastic crew! Great food! Plenty of snorkel time!! My friend and I did the full day tour, spending the day enjoying the reef. Our glass bottom boat tour guide (from Oct.4,2024) was fantastic; knowledgeable and made the experience exciting. Please update the photo of your boat though; the only exposed seating area is the very top which is closed when traveling to and from the reef. It was choppy weather conditions and the only seating available was inside which was not ideal for my friend who was sea sick.

Trip of a lifetime! We did the Ocean Free. Exceeded our expectations beyond belief. Only thing I can think that would top this trip is a space flight to the stars, seriously. The GBR is beautiful—scuba and snorkeled and saw turtle, sharks, and all the blazing beautiful fishes, too. Thanks to our crew the skipper Michael and our dive team Amber, Alexa, and Mike for making the trip so fun, hospitable, and energized!

Wonderful day out—the crew *made* the experience. Reef itself was less vibrant than I expected, probably due to coral bleaching. There were loads of beautiful, colourful fish and we even saw a turtle and a cuttlefish! The crew very sociable, knowledgeable and helpful. I even got to help hoist the sail!

had an absolutely fabulous time with the crew on Ocean Free. they were friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. our trip out to the Great Barrier Reef and Green Island was absolutely magical. we didn’t scuba dive but the snorkeling experience was amazing. we saw many types of marine life and were educated by the crew every step of the way. it felt like an intimate experience with less than 20 people on the boat. would recommend to anyone who wants to explore the Great Barrier Reef.

Amazing! Have done the cheaper ones before where you’re packed on and everything is rushed and you have 80 people swimming in this tiny space. Ocean Free was so much better. The staff were amazing, great food, relaxing boat, awesome location on the reef with plenty of options to cater for everyone. My two kids boy/8 and girl/15 both said it was the best day they’ve ever had on one of our regular trips up to Cairns. Thank you to the Ocean Free crew!

Ocean Free was the highlight of our trip, the staff were incredible and made it super fun. T was an amazing Dive Guide and since I was the only one who signed up we got to explore a lot. Saw so many turtles and sharks and the reef was just thriving. Went to the island and wanted to immediately go back in the boat to jump off, snorkel and float with some bevies- Thanks for keeping the wine and ginger beer flowing. Pascal and the girls did a great job skippering (I’m making that a word), hosting the day, and the food offerings were above and beyond. Thanks guys for an incredible experience -The Canadians

This was such an amazing trip I’m struggling to find enough vocab to describe it. From the moment we booked to boarding the yacht, sailing out to the reef (breakfast on route) then getting a couple of hours snorkelling in before lunch. The weather was perfect on Monday 2nd September. Visibility was stunning. We chose the assisted dive. Glad we did. Swimming with a turtle 5m beneath the surface is other worldly. We had a brief excursion to Green Island and sat on the beach enjoying the sun for about an hour - but soon decided we’d catch the next tender back to the dive boat and carry on snorkelling. When it was finally time to weigh anchor and hoist the sales for the return to Cairns the crew brought us wine and cheese for the journey home. A totally unforgettable experience. Perfectly planned by a company who really know how to look after people. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Ocean free provided a wonderful snorkel and first dive experience - our dive instructor Molly was extremely patient and calming as we got underwater and made sure we saw lots of interesting reef life while down. The food was decent and definitely more than enough to satiate after swimming. Even though we went on a low wind day they still cut the engine and hoisted the sail for a bit to get that lovely connection with the wind and the waves. All of the team are knowledgeable and friendly, couldn’t have spent a better day in Cairns!

Wir haben die Tour zum Besuch des Great Barrier Reefs mit Schnorcheln gebucht und waren bzw. sind es immer noch begeistert. Vor allem die äußerst kompetente und freundliche, hilfsbereite Durchführung und Begleitung während der Tour durch die gesamte Besatzung haben uns sehr imponiert und uns einen unvergesslichen, auch lehrreichen Urlaubstag beschert. Auch die Problematik um das Überleben dieses wichtigen Naturreservats ist uns viel klarer geworden. Danke!

Hicimos un tour con ellos al Outer Reef y la experiencia fue genial. El barco es amplio, estable y cómodo, tienen crema solar, pastillas antimareo, te dan desayuno, comida, merienda.. Pudimos hacer snorkel en dos lugares diferentes y ver un montón de corales y peces. Four of us booked the Ocean Freedom Tour. It was such a brilliant trip. Felt like it was super safe and organised.I was a bit apprehensive to snorkel as I’ve only done it once and didn’t love it, but this was my favourite part of the trip. I spent so long in the water! The staff were excellent at showing you the animals. Molly was a real MVP interacting with guests and pointing out animals under the water!It’s great for beginner snorklers as you are close enough to boat, but can also go off and do your own snorkelling within permitted areas. You are free to get in and off the boat as much as you want.One of the best trips I’ve done to date and want to do it again!Also, if you can eat everything onboard ( no dietary requirements) there’s more than enough food!One thing I’d say, is that when the top deck was closed - it felt like there were just a few too many people to sit. This was only an issue during going out and coming back as groups were split off. Didn’t spoil my trip.Thanks so much everyone.

Ich habe beide Bootsfahrten gebucht und es stellte sich heraus dass es die richtige Entscheidung war! Man bekommt für den Preis ein unvergessliches, atemberaubendes Erlebnis geboten. Die Crew war bei beiden Fahrten sehr zuvorkommend und hatte einen guten Sinn für Humor. Außerdem bekam man regelmäßig Essen angeboten welches mundete. Man hat mehrere Stunden um den Great Barrier Reef zu erkunden und die fabelhafte Unterwasserwelt auf sich wirken zu lassen. Dabei verspürt man immer ein Gefühl von Sicherheit aufgrund des liebevollem und achtsamen Team. Die beiden Ausflüge werde ich für immer im positiven in Erinnerung behalten.

Had the best time exploring the GBR! I had one dive with a different company previously, but I had a much better discovery diving experience this time. I felt safe and the sites we saw were amazing. Mooie grote boot, zeer vriendelijk personeel. Hele mooie snorkelmomenten onder begeleiding zodat je niets mist. We hebben gelopen op een mini eilandje en naast de vissen en het mooie koraal ook nog een schildpad en een tijgerhaai gezien. Zeer uitgebreide lunch met heel veel keuze en voor mij een heerlijk vegan gerecht. Wetsuit en snorkel/duikbril zijn van goede kwaliteit.

What a trip! The hospitality was first class, the boat spotless and the food, well we were fed all day long.
I'm a decent enough swimmer but never go out of my depth and to have Mike and Molly guide me when snorkeling whilst keeping me safe and given me the confidence all day, I had the trip of a lifetime! The reef was spectacular, the teams knowledge and expertise was second to none. Never mind seeing so many fish, star fish and the turtle. Would recommend this trip with Ocean Freedom without hesitation. Thank you so much Mike and Molly.

Yaya and the Mikes were amazing!

Very helpful and had confident answers for all our questions and issues. Beginner scuba class was easy to learn and even more enjoyable in the water.

Lots of fish, turtles and sharks on the dives - very knowledgeable.

Loads of time in the water and options to spend your time either on the island or half and half with more snorkle time.

Journey home and dance party topped off the trip. Will come back again with more friends next trip in the future.

I recently did a Reef tour down at Hamilton Island as my first on the GBR and had a great time.

A trip to Cairns (Palm Cove) meant another trip was due!

Ocean Freedom was recommended to us due to the smaller capacity and attention to detail by people at Palm Cove.

It was an amazing day out. A very full day, 2 reefs, well fed and normally I’d just do my own thing in the water, but opted for the glass bottom boat tour and guided snorkel while there and it was great. As little or as much time as you can handle in the water. Excellent reefs, Green Sea Turtles and Manta Rays were spotted by our family.

Highly recommended for your trip to the reef. Very kid friendly also and all provided equipment was top notch.

We had a wonderful experience sailing on the Ocean Free boat to Great Barrier Reef where we snorkelled and our daughter had her first experience diving. The diving instructor gave great instruction and had a genuine care for his clients and the skipper and crew were focused on giving us the best experience possible.

We had the best day. The crew on board were fantastic. The spot they moored off Green Island was so close to the reef you could almost stand on it. Snorkeling and diving was brilliant. Lunch on board is very impressive. We met some lovely people from all over the world. Sailing back at under full sail with a lovely glass of wine was exhilarating and exciting. We went on this reef cruise today and it was fantastic! The guides were incredible and the food was great- and there was loads of it! We went on a different snorkeling trip yesterday to Green Island and it was nothing compared to Ocean Freedom. The guides were in the water with us showing us all the fish and marine life. Definitely skip Green Island and go with Ocean Freedom!!!!

My wife, daughter and myself went out on Ocean Freedom on Wednesday 8 Feb 2023. A great day - the Captain and crew were unbelievably helpful and polite. Nothing was to much trouble. Once at the reef a guided glass bottom boat trip then onto with the snorkelling or SCUBA if you wanted. The food was high quality and heaps for everyone. When you thought it was over out came the cheese and biscuits followed by cake. I’ve been on a number of boat tours around the world and this is by far the best. It is highly recommend. Lastly a shout out to crewman Tom who was very patience with my wife and helped her snorkelling experience.

Perfect day out visiting two of the nearby reefs.
The crew are extremely warm, welcoming and a great laugh helping you be at ease wether if it’s your first time snorkelling/diving or somebody used to the ocean.
I did my first (and 2nd) ever scuba dive guided by these guys today and it couldn’t have been any better!

What a great value for money.
We took the family tour and were lucky to be going on a quite day.
First time diving for 2 of us was made comfortable by friendly staff.
Crew was so helpful in making sure snorkelling at 2 different spots was a memorable experience of the reef.We swam with turtles,saw reef shark and plenty of beautiful fishes in the reef.

Personalised Service is only one of the many wonderful experiences we had at The Great Barrier Reef. Just an amazing day on the reef with the crew of Ocean Freedom.
So much fun and these guys are total professionals.
Great saftey protocols with maximum fun the whole day.
Our many snorkels were wonderful with great comentary and guidance if desired. All the crew were so knowledgeable about the reef and its inhabitants. Scuba dives with Lou & Rose were so good great guides and they were so caring fot all divers.
Food was fabulous and there was plenty to go around.
The whole crew were so frienly, interactive and really well organised.
Our day was perfect and we would love to travel again with the Ocean Freedom Family. Thanks guys for a very memorable day!

The whole experience was first class, from booking the tickets to our welcome onto the the boat. Our day trip to the reef was memorable- the crew’s service, expertise and knowledge were exceptional. The fit out of the boat is quality and the food was sensational.
We absolutely recommend Ocean Freedom to anyone wanting to thoroughly enjoy a day on the Great Barrier Reef.

Had a lovely day aboard Ocean Freedom. The crew were all very lovely and knowledgeable. They were happy to drag us around the ocean as it was a bit choppy in the first location. All the staff were happy to explain about the fish and point things out. A great day out. Highly recommended.

I was booked on this tour by my travel agent. I had found another cruise by decided to let the agent do the booking work for me. My tour was on 12th August.
From the moment of checking in, I was treated like a VIP for a day. A joke of "permission to come aboard" at the pier started a relaxing day of cruising the reef, 2 introduction dives of scuba diving, snorkelling, great food, and even better, fantastic staff.
I had not dived since 1987 and my instructor Jen took me through the process and I was both excited and nervous about entering the water. Jen made me completely at ease, and I loved every second of my two dives.

We just can't say enough about these guys! The crew were just BLOODY AWESOME! They took us to a place on the reef that wasn't heavily populated by other tour boats so we were spoilt for choice. We got to spend 6 hours in the water snorkelling. There were always guides with us showing us around and sharing information about the marine life around us. Glass bottom boat tours were included.

In between we were kept well fed and watered. Lunch was really good. Simple food, seafood, cold meats and salads but fresh and good quality👍 Morning and afternoon tea was also provided.

The boat wasn't overly packed out either. Plenty of room to move around. If you have 1, DEFINITELY bring a GoPro with you. I hung out with a green sea turtle for a good half an hour and wish I could've captured some of that experience.

An awesome laid back Nth QLD experience at its finest! We will be back again for sure!

I entirely enjoyed my day. The crew was amazing, so attentive and helpful. The captain Pascol ( hope I spelled his name right 😁) made sure we all were safe and can enjoy every moment of the day. of all the tour choices for seeing and experiencing the reef, we were somehow lucky enough to have found THE BEST! From beginning to end, the most professional crew , and pristine boat ( we were on the power cat). we had a personal dive master Yatti, who's expertise and direction made us feel safe and well looked after! Thanks heaps mate! Rosie led our guided snorkelling tour and was extremely knowledgeable about the reef, and pointed out all the highlights! Didn't miss a thing! The food aboard was top notch too.. 5 plus stars out of 5!! what a team!

Unforgettable Christmas Adventure !

We highly recommend the Ocean Freedom and their team. They strive to ensure your day is fantastic, safe and memorable. We had a wonderful experience on the introductory to scuba and appreciated the safe system in place to give first time scuba divers a trip of a lifetime. The passionate and enthusiastic crew made sure we had what we needed with gear and instruction. The onboard breakfast, lunch and snacks were delicious. Excellent Ozzie hospitality extended with passing the afternoon snacks around so no one missed out.
We valued the lower number of passengers on board resulting in spectacular memories to last a lifetime. Many thanks for an absolutely awesome experience!!

What a wonderful day with this great team!
I was not a confident snorkeller and mainly booked so my hubby could have his great barrier reef experience, but ended up getting involved and absolutely loving it!
The food was excellent and plentiful.

What a great experience!! What they tell you in their brochure is what you get for the full 100% and more! Paul gave us a briefing of the day which he did with a lot of humor. When we got to the reef we started off with the glass bottom boat. Lou was amazing she explained everything you needed to know about the reef. Doing this first was great because you knew what to expect. After that we jumped into the water for some snorkeling for more than 2 hours. We went on a snorkel tour with Mat which was great. He showed us everything we needed to see. After the tour you could explore the reef by yourself. When we got back on the boat a perfect lunch was prepared for us with prawns, smoked salmon, chicken and some nice salads.
After lunch we headed off to another spot where we again snorkeled for about 2 hours.
After this we cruised back to harbour with fruit and snack served.
Overall.... it was an amazing day!
Thank you guys for making this trip unforgettable!

One of the best dive crew I've been out with. Went for my honeymoon and then took my kids out with these guys. Exceptional if I times, the crew are amazing. Genuinely friendly, go out of their way to help and to chat with you and the boat (Ocean Free) makes for a perfect small size trip. I've seen reef sharks, turtles, rays and so many different species of fish on the beautiful reef out near Green Island with these guys, their divers really k ow the area well. They took my 7yo and 4yo out snorkelling too over the reef and they loved it! I'll be back again next year for sure.

First time diving and couldn’t have asked for better staff. Chris was patient and guided us past the nerves. We had a great time. Ben and Eva were fantastic. If you are looking for a smaller group tour and excellent service then go here. Also the food was fantastic. We had lunch, later we stopped for wine and cheese, and before returning we finished off with dessert. We definitely had an incredible experience. Highly recommended.

My friend and I took a snorkeling tour with them today and it was AWESOME! The staff were the BEST! They were very attentive to everyone’s level of snorkeling and diving! The worked very hard! The food they served was also amazing! They had coffee and pastries for breakfast, served lunch and it wasn’t sandwiches, served cheese and crackers throughout trip along with fruit, figs, deserts and whatever you water along with other drinks!! I would highly recommend them! You would be missing out on a great experience if you didn’t book with them! Thanks to all for a spectacular day!!

my mum and mines first experience and what an experience! staff so welcoming and made us feel at ease while both doing our scuba, we would of tested patience with our learning skills but we did not feel judged!! I've been trying to break my wife into scuba and needed to find a charter that would take good care of her. Ocean Free did not disappoint. For her first dive ever they took great care to make sure she felt confident in the water and that we all had an amazing experience. The crew was nothing short of exceptional and diving the reef was the experience of a lifetime. The excursion to Green Island and the crocodile park was a nice bonus for those less inclined to be in the water as well. Couldn't be happier.

Amazing amazing amazing the hi light of our Cairns visit Pasquale The skipper went to great lengths to make our trip memorable Chris entertained us with stories (ask him how far a 200klm lake is) and made us Dave Mathews fans. Pale (excuse the spelling if wrong) very knowledgeable helpful as well. We had a trip on Ocean Free out to the reef in short what an awesome experience it was, not to be missed. The size of the boat gave you a more personal feeling and we were looked after by a fabulous crew, Portia, Chris and Scot (the captain). Whilst snorkelling Chris gave a tour of the reef pointing out and explaining what we were looking at as well as answering our many questions. Thank you Ocean Free for fulfilling a dream.
